I have been teaching since 2000, starting my teaching career at Morris MacDonald School Division and have spent my last 12 years at Interlake School Division. I am the Technology Mentor for our small school and a committee member for our divisions Computer Steering Committee.
I love teaching in a small community in Manitoba, Canada. It is so nice to see students and families grow, there are some students that I teach that I have known since they were 4 years old, with small communities come a great sense of family. This year I am also teaching the child of a student I taught my first year! Wow!
I am blessed to have married an amazing man and double blessed by two happy healthy boys, and an adorable girl dog who the boys named Simon! Since having my children I do see education differently, a goal for me is to be the teacher that I hope my child gets. To have my engagement and relationship with my students mirror that of what their teachers have with them. As well I constantly ask myself now, is what I am doing in my class good enough that my own kids would be engaged, interested, motivated and inspired. I have always felt this way, just more for some reason now.
When I am not at school, our family enjoys time outside.
